Deeper Thoughts

Cyclist Lance Armstrong has inspired many because of his stunning
victories, both as a cyclist and a cancer survivor. It often helps
to see courage lived out in order to be courageous; to see patience
practiced, in order to be patient. If you had to choose a hero from
the Bible, whom would he/she be? Which of that person's
characteristics do you want to imitate?

Is there another Christian you know personally that you pattern
your life after, go to for advice, etc.? How is it helpful to have
a Christian mentor? Could it ever be harmful?

Our Savior, of course, is the hero of heroes (Hebrews 12:2,3). How
does regular contact with God's Word and sacrament help you "fix
[y]our eyes on Jesus...; consider him..., so that you will not grow
weary and lose heart"?
