Forget getting dad another tie or screwdriver or golf ball.
Here are some gift ideas that dad will be sure to remember.
Let your father know that he is in your daily prayers.
Even better (come on, you can do this), ask your father
for some private time together when you can pray aloud
for him.
Write him a love letter. Tell him what you appreciate
about him (be specific).
Use your computer or get out your colored pencils.
Design a "I'm glad you're my dad" card.
Contact your church and have flowers put on the altar
in your father's name.
Wash and polish his car. Vacuum out the interior. Leave
him a note to explain why you've done this.
Rent a video/DVD together. Then sit together to watch
it.
Ask him out on a lunch date (yup, that means you buy).
It's doesn't have to be a fancy restaurant; fast-food
will do.
Email him seven (why settle for one?) greeting cards.
Take over your father's regular chores around the house
for a time or two. Mow the lawn, take out the garbage,
cook supper, go grocery shopping - whatever he usually
does.
Rub his back.
Everybody does birthday cakes. Pick a day and bake him
a "I love you, Dad" cake.
Scrapbooking is big these day. Piece together a book
about your father and why you appreciate him.

If you haven't read it, check
out a story about how one girl learned the value of her
father. And don't miss reading what
other Christian teenagers have learned about their
fathers.
