So much for teen anxiety. According to 2000 USA Weekend's
Special Teen Report, almost all kids (93%) say they feel
"really good" or "kind of good" about themselves. In one of the
largest surveys ever taken of American young people (272,400
responded) researchers discovered:
teens are satisfied with their looks; 31% are very satisfied
and 63% are somewhat satisfied.
teens say they've never needed to visit a mental health
counselor 77%.
teens frequently hear adults say something encouraging or
supportive to them. 37% hear something encouraging each day;
38% heard something encouraging each week.
