Welcome

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 8:59:01 PM)
hey, repulicrat...you need to put some letters from "Independent" in there, too

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 8:59:12 PM)
lol

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 8:59:24 PM)
Independent Republicrat

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 8:59:48 PM)
Don't forget the Green party!

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:00:11 PM)
Maybe voting turnout will be better than tonight

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:00:54 PM)
I am really excited about all the interest in these primaries. This is really an exciting time for anyone interested in politics and government

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:01:03 PM)
So who are you supporting and why?

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:02:25 PM)
I don't know that I should share publicly, believing that a person's vote is a private matter, but I know that some candidates and their personal and professional positions do not impress me

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:04:21 PM)
Seeing we're anonymous for the most part, I'll start with stating I am more a Republican and will likely support McCain

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:04:56 PM)
However, the excitement of seeing an African American or woman become president is really special.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:05:06 PM)
I guess I would feel that way also. I do think we have some of the smarter candidates in this final phase than we have had for a while

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:05:33 PM)
yes, both are really history-making

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:05:42 PM)
(This user has entered Who do you think should be the next U.S. President?)

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:05:50 PM)
What about the war though? Are you worried about that?

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:06:51 PM)
(This user has entered Who do you think should be the next U.S. President?)

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:07:04 PM)
Well, I believe God is in charge, but the war going longer is a concern. The loss of life and money is horrible. It wil be an issue that all of them will have to deal with and there are no easy outs nomatter how you look at it

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:07:53 PM)
I certainly hope and pray there isn't a draft.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:08:22 PM)
Yes, but they do always say that will not come back

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:08:41 PM)
What are your concerns?

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:09:52 PM)
With a Dem. in office we are more likely to see a reinstatement; even then I don't think it will happen.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:09:56 PM)
The war, the economy, education, terrorism...the standard stuff

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:10:24 PM)
george clooney should be the next U.S. president because he is the bestest man in the WORLD!!!!

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:10:51 PM)
Does it concern you to see how the media is twisting Obama's background?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:11:35 PM)
not really b/c i am a republican and obama is a democrat!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:11:43 PM)
The media is of course biased and has been for decades; they may help sway the election.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:11:54 PM)
not at al

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:11:56 PM)
all*

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:12:17 PM)
(This user has entered Who do you think should be the next U.S. President?)

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:13:05 PM)
I think the media outlets all take a side and subtly pushe their own presidential people

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:13:28 PM)
Obama has not been delivered a hardball yet; I can't

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:13:54 PM)
wait for that moment

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:02 PM)
Do you think a woman could make a good president?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:08 PM)
no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:22 PM)
agree

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:23 PM)
at least not that woman

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:27 PM)
I think it is so hard to really get all the correct data on any of them. There is just so much information and misinformation to wade through

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:14:37 PM)
why?

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:15:18 PM)
Why not? Margaret Thatcher was an excellent leader.

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:15:30 PM)
True

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:15:41 PM)
I think a woman co9uld be a good president. I would wonder if in today's world with all the Middleeast governments, if they would respect a woman as a leader

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:05 PM)
Wasn't the leader in Pakastan a women?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:06 PM)
but it wold depend on the woman and what she stands for

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:17 PM)
Sure, and look waht happened to her

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:26 PM)
Tough world

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:36 PM)
stmartins, so true

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:16:45 PM)
if we don't believe in what she stands for than she shouldnt be the presedent

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:00 PM)
same true of a man

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:06 PM)
yes

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:16 PM)
a woman is not fit for such a role; just as she is not in the pulpit

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:22 PM)
exactly!

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:26 PM)
I don't think we're ready for a woman president

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:17:27 PM)
are any of you in high schools, and if so are your classes talking about all this?

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:18:08 PM)
I think those are two different topics. I respect your opinion, but not your delivery.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:18:17 PM)
yes we are in high school and no we aren't talking about this in classes

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:18:38 PM)
Good point blustar.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:18:41 PM)
knightgrail: doesn;t the bible speak of women's role only in the church?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:18:52 PM)
it'd be fine if people would respect her but the problem is they wouldnt

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:19:32 PM)
I am not always sure the men in charge have done the greatest...and I'm a man!

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:19:43 PM)
I think we better stick to politics and not mix this discussion with religious roles of men and women.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:19:58 PM)
exactly blustar

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:20:07 PM)
blustar...that's another chat topic!!!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:20:13 PM)
usa, true, but i am pushing it over to the highest office too

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:20:32 PM)
The potential of having a female president will bring this disussion up though I bet

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:05 PM)
we havent had a woman president ever and think of hillary's husband!!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:21 PM)
we were created for different roles; woman are emotional

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:22 PM)
wat if we had a black president??

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:23 PM)
I would vote for the best person for the job. Sometime in history, that will be a woman. Not this time though.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:30 PM)
do you mena if you get Hil you also get Bill?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:39 PM)
pretty much

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:21:50 PM)
African American? I believe what blustar said. It's not about color.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:17 PM)
while women are emotional they are also nurtuing, thoughtful, empathetic and try to see all sides, I think

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:27 PM)
knightgrail...r u a guy or a girl?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:37 PM)
thank you usa

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:46 PM)
all man

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:46 PM)
guys are emotional too

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:22:58 PM)
What about alternative energy sources. What about the rising cost of education?

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:23:25 PM)
The economy is a huge issue with families losing their homes.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:23:33 PM)
that explains why u have no respect for the oposite sex

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:23:38 PM)
what's neat about good leaders is they tap into the gifts of those around them to help complete themselves...kind of like the body of Christ concept

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:24:47 PM)
their are some guys who are more emotional than girls... you cant stereotype us!!!!!!

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:24:56 PM)
There will be many different types of people voting. Hopefully, those that have sense will be the ones at the polls.

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:25:09 PM)
we are Christians; lets look at this through a Christian World View; what does are bible tell us

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:25:42 PM)
I would wonder if the woman and black candidates, as we get closer, will surface some of the prejudice and bigotry that still affects our country

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:26:02 PM)
usa, already has

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:26:03 PM)
the bible says we should not be sexest....men and woman were created equal

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:26:45 PM)
st, no we are not

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:26:53 PM)
I wonder when we'll be Americans. I wonder when we'll be Christians. If we keep dividing everyone, we'll never find common ground to work for the good.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:27:13 PM)
I have in my life had many great female role models and helpers.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:27:17 PM)
well than you shouldnt answer your questions like that!!!!!!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:27:39 PM)
Christ first

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:27:46 PM)
what makes men and women totally equal is sin

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:28:03 PM)
exactly...we are equal!!!!

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:28:16 PM)
I don't under stand you knightgrail. It seems you are contradicting yourself.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:28:31 PM)
tell me what youj all thknk about the use of the INternet in this campaign

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:28:53 PM)
thank you blustar

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:29:08 PM)
every candidate has Web sites, blog, you tube stff

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:29:33 PM)
blustar.....are u a guy or a girl

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:29:43 PM)
USA 1, that is an interesting question. It seems we suffer from biased info on the net. People tend to believe what they want to hear.

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:29:55 PM)
Why would it matter?

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:30:21 PM)
so true and you can find places on the net that support your views

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:30:26 PM)
we were just wondering...we apreciate that u simathize with us

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:30:51 PM)
It would sway you and make you judge my point of view.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:30:53 PM)
*simpathize

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:31:00 PM)
good point

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:31:13 PM)
sympatize

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:31:26 PM)
sympathize, i meant

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:31:28 PM)
we are only equal in the eternal; we are not equal here on earth (even from one man to another); we are all created with different levels of intellect and abilites; this way we are not equal.

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:31:41 PM)
That is precisely my point. If you would consider someone's beliefs you don't need to see color, or sex.

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:32:10 PM)
Awesome bluestar

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:32:31 PM)
that is why you cant sterotype woman

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:32:37 PM)
or men

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:32:39 PM)
knight...true. the All men are created equal was the wish of the founders who were more humanistic

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:33:33 PM)
did anyone hear any results from the Mississippi primary today?

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:34:21 PM)
Ah, but the Lord held a very special place for women. Christ is born of a woman. Christ asked Mary Magdelene to Go and Tell his disciples that he arose from the dead. Christ cared for his mother even while dying on the cross. He loves us.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:34:45 PM)
that he does!

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:34:53 PM)
i agree

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:35:06 PM)
Now, can we talk about the candidates?

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:35:31 PM)
vote for McCaine he is the only one that comes close to our Christian morals; there really should be no debate. I am sorry that we lost the candidates that held closer to our ideals such as Fred Thompson

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:35:32 PM)
What good does each candidate bring?

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:35:36 PM)
blu..what ya got?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:35:45 PM)
yes if we are all done with the sexism agains woman candidates

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:36:29 PM)
Obama brings excitement. Hillary brings experience. McCain, he brings reality.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:36:53 PM)
that is true....i think we need the reality

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:37:13 PM)
What do you mean?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:37:51 PM)
he is making realistic goals and views that people can relate to

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:38:00 PM)
I think Obama brings some experience, too, just different

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:38:01 PM)
He isn't about hype, nor does he have the need to build himself up.

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:38:19 PM)
(McCain)

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:38:36 PM)
I know little about Obama's experience.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:39:02 PM)
knight...I am not sure if McCain is totally in sinc with my religious views, but closer I suppose

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:39:22 PM)
hilary may have experiance from her different posistions but that doesnt mean she knows what she is doing any better than the other candidates

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:39:32 PM)
Do we know each candidates religions?

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:39:45 PM)
Obama was 20 years as a Civil Rights lawyer, then IL state senator, then US senator

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:40:15 PM)
even from one male to another we are not equal; and men and woman were created differently for a reason; to say we are all equal is denying God; some are more blessed than others. Again, equal in heaven not on earth.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:40:35 PM)
candidates experiance in other jobs doesnt show how well they will do in pesidancy

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:40:56 PM)
Fair enough knightgrail

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:40:57 PM)
they all say they are Christian but i think if you'd dig in, you'd see some pretty non-Lutheran perspectives

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:41:40 PM)
for sure, none of them seem to hold to the Bible as being totally inspired and absolute truth

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:41:53 PM)
men and woman were created differently but that doesnt show which ones are better for office!!!!!

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:42:08 PM)
some woman are better for office than some men

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:42:09 PM)
Obama is more liberal than Hillary, she uses religion to suite her needs, and she will bring the U.S. closer to Marxim

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:42:30 PM)
Marxism....how so?

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:42:43 PM)
social engineering

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:42:50 PM)
explain

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:43:13 PM)
Yes please explain

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:43:21 PM)
we dont understand

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:43:36 PM)
state schools

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:43:47 PM)
national health care

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:11 PM)
cradle to grave government

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:16 PM)
I will say that the Democrats do seem to care more for the poor and disadvantaged

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:20 PM)
what does all this mean???

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:39 PM)
where does that info come from???

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:53 PM)
democrates also approve abortion!!!!

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:44:56 PM)
it is not charity when others (the gov.) do our charity for us

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:45:14 PM)
I think the point is that some fear the government will take away our freedoms

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:45:36 PM)
Yes, the dems are off on that one

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:45:40 PM)
in what way are they going to take away our freedoms??

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:45:43 PM)
and some others

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:46:25 PM)
knight..how would you respond to that one?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:46:42 PM)
it depens on how or where the government gets their money from

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:46:47 PM)
and how they are involved in it

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:46:53 PM)
We've done the same thing for the last four years. I haven't seen improvements in alternative fuels, insurance coverage for those without, a new idea for helping the poor, AND, we still have an entire community in New Orleans that hasn't been rebuilt. We do need change. We need to act here at home and abroad. We are not moving out of our comfort zone. Are we waiting for something bigger than 911 or Katrina to get us moving?

buck (Mar 11, 2008 9:47:14 PM)
(This user has entered Who do you think should be the next U.S. President?)

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:47:23 PM)
blustar...good points

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:47:53 PM)
are freedoms have slowly been given up over the last 100 years; we have already turned up the heat on the frog in the pot

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:47:55 PM)
Politics is the obstacle.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:48:12 PM)
it is all so complicated...so much information...so many positions. Staying informed is a full time job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:48:13 PM)
what freedoms have we lost???

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:49:18 PM)
What we have is a great set of values and a perfect example in the Bible.

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:49:25 PM)
are all of you voting age in November?

buck (Mar 11, 2008 9:49:40 PM)
yes

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:49:43 PM)
Yes

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:49:56 PM)
we should be thankful for all the freedoms we do have!!!!! think of all the other countries who have NO freedom!!!

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:50:11 PM)
no...y should that matter?

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:50:33 PM)
my opinon still matters!!!!!!

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:50:40 PM)
nope, just wondering who would have the privilege of actually acting on their presidential passions

Republicrat (Mar 11, 2008 9:51:35 PM)
What is the best way to research a candidate? Who should you believe?

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:51:36 PM)
Anyone read Obama's book...can't recall the title

knightgrail (Mar 11, 2008 9:52:01 PM)
Woodrow Wilson threw the frog into the pot initialy

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:52:28 PM)
everyone is going to do diferent reseach and that is going to make a diference in their point of views

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:52:32 PM)
Rep...that is a good question.. I get TIME mag, watch the news, hit some web sites, talk to people I trust

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:52:59 PM)
The debates are telling as well.

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:53:00 PM)
you cant trust everything you hear on the news

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:53:12 PM)
you have to do your won reaserch

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:53:16 PM)
*own

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:53:20 PM)
blustar...good point, but I don;t have cable so don;t get to see them

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:53:48 PM)
you do need to look at several sources

blustar (Mar 11, 2008 9:54:10 PM)
Thanks for your opinions all. Don't forget to vote your conscience!

stmartins (Mar 11, 2008 9:54:18 PM)
in those situations that is when you have to do your own reasearch in a different way

USA 1 (Mar 11, 2008 9:54:26 PM)
who do you think will be the final candidates?
