Thank You
READ: Psalm 96
It was Emily’s eighth birthday. She had a party, a huge cake, and of course, lots of presents. When it was time to open presents, she ripped off the paper to find she had gotten just what she wanted, the latest Barbie. She thanked her mom and dad with a hug and ran off to play with it. A week later she barely touched it.
We can often relate to this in our lives as Christians. We are so thankful for the gift of salvation, yet we barely touch our Bibles for personal reading and rarely sing hymns on our own just to thank and praise God for sending us a Savior. When it comes to thanking and praising God in our lives, we often forget, or we have good intentions, but lack the enthusiasm. By thanking and praising our Lord we would be witnessing to others.
In Psalm 96:2 it says, “Sing to the Lord, praise his name and proclaim his salvation day after day.” When the psalmist wrote this, he was explaining to us that all the people of the earth should sing to the Lord because he has provided salvation for the whole world. Christ has won peace and forgiveness for all people; praise him. The world should know!
We need to praise and thank God in our daily lives. Let us join together in song and spread the wonderful good news of the world’s salvation.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What are ways you can praise God? How do you already praise God in your daily life? Where can you improve?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask for strength to share the message. Ask God to open your mouth for all your blessings. Thank God for the gift of salvation.
