No Fear

READPsalm 27

Fear – It takes hold on everyone.  What are you afraid of?  Could it be darkness, strangers, or death?  We find words of comfort that tell us that we don’t need to fear because the Lord is with us.

“Jump, Joey: I’ll catch you.”

“But Dad, I’m afraid.”

“Don’t be afraid, I’m right here for you.”

So Joey jumps and his dad catches him.  As Christians we don’t need to be afraid of anything.  We find these wonderful words of assurance in Psalm 27.  David writes, “The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?”  Here we find that the Lord will be with us through everything, no matter what happens.  He takes all of our worries away for us.  Just as Joey put his trust in his dad, we need to put our trust in the Lord.

For all that He has done for us; He deserves much thanks and praise.  The next time you are afraid of something, remember that He will be by your side as long as you live and trust in Him.  Then you will have no fear.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  What are you afraid of?  What do you do when you’re afraid?  What can you do to help others to not be afraid?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Praise God for being with you.  Thank Him for taking away your fears.  Pray for others who might be afraid.
