Be Prepared
READ: Luke 12:32-40
Have you ever left your door unlocked when you went to bed at night or when you left your house? That’s not very smart. In our sinful world thieves come and steal. I’m sure if you knew when this stranger was coming, you would be well prepared. However, we don’t know when he is coming, so you should always keep your doors locked. That’s the same way that it is when we are told about Jesus’ return. We don’t know when it will be, but we should be ready.
We are told in Luke 12:39-40, “But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
Live your life to believe, thank, and praise God for everything. Be ready because we don’t know when God will take us to heaven, whether it is an early death or Judgment Day.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: If you die now, do you know where you will be going? Why do you think it is so important to know where you are going? Why is it so important to be prepared?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for God to strengthen your faith and to make you ready for whatever comes each day. Thank Him for His love.
