Always On My Mind
READ: Psalm 130
I went out and partied with my friends the other night. We all had a lot to drink and one of us drove home and ended up getting into an accident. Nobody was hurt, thank God! So, why do I feel so guilty?
“Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life.” (Lev. 19:16) I was not using my best judgment by letting my friend drive drunk. None of us should have been drinking that night. I know that I should have said something about our illegal actions, but the pressure of having fun took over my thoughts. Now, I feel incredibly guilty because I didn’t say something. I know that the Lord will “redeem me from all of my sins.” (Psalm 130:8)
I pray that God will give me the strength to do and say the right things at the appropriate times. God gives me many opportunities to witness my faith. Though I sometimes fail, I know that God also lets me learn from my mistakes. I have learned to put my “hope in the Lord,” and I hope and pray that you do the same.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What makes you feel guilty? What would you have done in this situation? Why does God test our faith?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for strength in difficult circumstances. Ask for forgiveness when you fail as a witness. Thank God for the challenges you face.
