Your First Bicycle

READLuke 18:1-8a

Do you remember when you got your first two-wheeler?  To be able to ride a bicycle like the big guys was a dream of a lifetime.  Were you determined to do whatever it took to ride that new bike?  Bumps, bruises, and scraped knees did not stop you because of your determination.

The determination that we had when we were first learning how to ride our two-wheeler can be compared to the persistence we are to have when approaching our Heavenly Father in prayer.  In Luke 18:7-8a we read, “Will not God bring justice…to those who cry out to him day and night?  I tell you, he will…”  Through these words we see that God encourages us to persistently come to Him in prayer and He promises to answer them in the best way in which He see fit.

So, as we go out into the world, may we always remember our first two-wheeler!  Remember the determination and persistence it took to learn how to ride like the big guys.  Use the same effort and drive when you go to our own living God.  Be persistent.  He will hear and answer your prayers.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  What type of things do you go to God in prayer for?

When do you most often turn to the Lord?  What sometimes keeps you from turning to

God?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Ask God to be with you as you go out into the world as

His witnesses.  Ask God to give you the determination to go out and live your life to the glory of His name.  Also, thank God for the assurance that He will always hear our

prayers and answer them in the best way possible.
