Can't Run, Can't Hide
READ: Jeremiah 23:23-29
A military officer in a far away country fighting in a war, a spelunker miles into a deep cave, an astronaut miles and miles above the earth in the vacuum of space, or perhaps you in a troublesome situation. What do all these examples have in common? The answer is that in every single one, God is present. In each one of these scenarios God could and would deliver His children from danger, if it was His will.
There is nowhere you could possibly go where God could not find you. Jeremiah 23:24a tells us, “Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?” This is a very comforting thought for us and other believers—that God will always be there for us, NO MATTER WHAT. Can we say that about anyone or anything else? I don’t think so! “God fills heaven and earth!” (Jeremiah 23:24b)
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How would you explain the comfort in God’s omnipresence to an unbeliever who might think it to be an unnerving idea? Can you name a time when God showed that He is always with you? What would you feel like if you did not know God is always there for you?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray that God always remains in your life. Pray that others come to know the comfort of God’s omnipresence. Thank God for His protection.
