The Greatest Feast of All

READ: Isaiah 25:6-9
I am sure that almost everyone has gone to a restaurant that serves buffet meals. For someone like me who enjoys eating, I find these places especially enjoyable. You can choose from a wide variety of foods, eating until you can not possibly eat another bite. Often times you eat more than you probably needed to, and you can tell a few hours later, when you feel as if you are going to explode. But in the end, this discomfort passes away, and you once again return to your normal state of affairs, perhaps a pound or two heavier.
In Scripture, God talks about many feasts. There’s the parable of the Wedding Feast. There’s the Feast of Unleavened Bread. There’s also the Last Supper. It may not be a feast, but it is definitely one of the most important meals in the Bible. There is another feast, however, that God tells us of through the prophet Isaiah. At this feast there will be food, as well as all the Christians of the world. This feast is Judgment Day. On that day he will destroy all the wickedness of the world, and we will be left with nothing but happiness surrounding us, as well as our Triune God. And, unlike an earthly feast, there are no bad feelings afterwards. In heaven there will be nothing but joy and happiness forever and ever. How can you beat that?
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What is you vision of heaven? Do you think everything that makes you happy will be there? When do you think Judgment Day is coming? What is your vision of Judgment Day?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you in your life here on earth so that you can stay close to the Lord and will be able to feast with Him in heaven. Thank Him for sending His Son, so that we are able to go and be with Him.
