God Will Raise You Up
READ: Luke 2:33-40
At Christmas time we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a joyous time of year. Through Jesus’ birth, life, death and resurrection, Christians can receive God’s gift of eternal life. Through faith in Christ, a Christian is saved. Christ will raise up those who believe in Him. Because of Christ’s great love for us, He forgives sinners and promises us heaven as our home one day.
However, not everyone will get to taste of heaven. Many people will refuse to let God into their lives, and disregard everything God has done for them. Christ is a stumbling block to unbelievers. Christ came into the world to die for everyone's sins. He is our loving Savior for which we, as Christians, should always be thankful.
Those who have faith in God will be raised up, and those who oppose Him will fall. Christ points to the Father and His love for sinners, and those who oppose Him also oppose the Father. Because of God’s great love for us, we should live lives that are pleasing to Him, putting all our faith, hope and trust in Him. Through Jesus, God will raise us up, and then one day we will receive His wonderful gift of eternal life.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Who will God raise up, and who will fall? Whom shall we always put our trust in? Why? How will we as Christians receive God’s gift of eternal life?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for a strong faith and courage to keep God in our hearts for our whole lives. Thank God for His gift of heaven. Pray for the ability to live lives that are pleasing to Him.
