Fighting the Temptations of Sex

READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:12-20
The morals of the world are constantly decreasing. What sociaty tells us is not always what we know is right as Christians. Teenagers today are becoming sexually active at an earlier age all the time. I am sure that almost every one of you knows at least one teenager that is sexually active. Society tells us that "safe sex" is okay, but as Christians we know that abstinence is the only thing that is God-pleasing before marriage. Even inside of marriage we need to be careful to lead pure and decent lives.
Our bodies are precious and, by the grace of God and through faith in him, considered holy. Therefore, we should not engage in sinful sexual behaviors, for our bodies are members of Christ himself. I Corinthians 6:18 tells us, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. " We know that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. God has given us his undeserved love, and we were all bought at a price. We need to remember to honor God with our bodies, not conforming to the ways of the sinful world, but rather fleeing from sexual immorality.
Our bodies are members of Christ himself and not meant for any kind of sin. We should use our bodies to honor and glorify God in every way.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What is acceptable sexual activity in God's eyes: What are our bodies? Why should we always honor our bodies?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Dear God, please help me to lead a sexually acceptable life in thoughts, words and actions. Help those who are sinning sexually to realize their sin, repent of their ways, and lead a new, holy life. Thank you for the extraordinary bodies that you have blessed us with.
