READ: EPHESIANS 1:16-23

When I was a young child in grade school, I often wondered to myself about death and going to heaven, I also wondered if I was going to heaven. As the years went on, however, I discovered when I read the Bible, the book God gave us to understand Him better, that God picked me out before He created the world along with everything else. After I learned this, I became more interested in God's Word and more confident that I was going to heaven.

I know most people think about death daily, worrying about whether they are going to heaven or hell. If you realize what God says in the Bible, and take it into consideration, we have no need to worry. As it says in Ephesians 1:18-21, "...in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come." Without God, there wouldn't be anything worth living for. People in today's world take life for granted, not thinking God or death could come at any time.

We should give thanks to God through prayer because He gave us prayer to talk to Him. We should use the opportunities we get to talk to our Lord and Savior. God has also given us the Holy Spirit to work in our heart so we know Him better.

We should give thanks to God for all He has done for us. There is no way anyone can love us or ever will love us as much as God.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What can you do to be more thankful? Why did God create us if we were going to die? When you think about death, are you afraid of where you might go? What can you do to not be afraid?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank and praise God for all He has done for you. Ask for help to praise Him always and for everything.
