Does Prayer Really Help?

READ: Ephesians 3:13-21

Does prayer really help? Let’s talk about it for a while. You probably have special times when you pray to God. Other times are in the morning or right before you go to bed. Other times are when you want something, like right before a test you weren’t well prepared for. No matter when we pray or where we pray, we should pray and do it properly.

There really is no right or wrong way to pray. We should just obey the commandments and talk to our loving God. This could be done wherever or whenever you want to pray. We should make a point of doing it, for God commands us to do so in the Bible.

You may ask, why should I pray when nothing gets answered? Well, this is not true. It probably is just not the answer you wanted from God. God tells us He hears all our prayers, and they will all be answered in a specific way and at a specific time in our lives. God will not forget about His dear children,

God also says we may talk about anything to Him. This may be asking God to help you with your problems, or asking Him for something material. We may also come to God to give Him praise and thanks for the things He has given us and done for us. We also should pray for others besides ourselves.

Through prayer, God can take care of many things for us. It can be a wonderful experience to talk with God and open yourself to Him. We should all want to pray.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What does God specifically say about prayer in the Bible? Is it a sin if we don’t pray? Can we sin if we pray for the wrong things?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray that God will forgive us for not always using His gift of prayer. Thank God for giving us this great opportunity.
