No Need to Worry

READ: Matthew 6:25-34

Everyone worries. Everyone has stress in their life. We all go along in our lives trying to get through each day without having a nervous breakdown.

Is this a good thing?  Is worrying OK?

Basically, when we worry, we are not trusting in God. We don’t trust God to take care of us and give us what we need. This distrust is something that can be changed though. It says in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” God says He will give us all things. We just have to trust Him and not worry. It says in our text that God provides for all of the animals and plants. He has made them beautiful and they lack nothing. Aren’t we more important to God than they are? We are God’s children. God loved us so much that He sent His own Son to die for us. Then I am sure that He loves us enough to give us everything that we need for our body and soul.

Why should we worry about what happens to us in this world anyway? This world is only our temporary home. Instead, we should take comfort in the promise of God in our salvation through Christ. Heaven is our eternal and true home. That is our final goal. Let us strive for this goal in Christ with all our heart, mind and soul.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why is our worrying unnecessary? How can we show we are totally trusting God?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you trust Him more. Ask God to help you to not get upset about small things.
