We are Blessed by God
READ: I Peter 4:7-11
What kind of talents or special gifts do you have? God has given every one of us special gifts and blessings - spiritual gifts, physical gifts, and mental gifts. Unbelievers go through life and use their God-given gifts without even thinking of the source of these blessings. Although these unbelievers may use their blessings in helpful and unselfish ways toward others, they aren't really using their gifts as God intended them to.
Believers, however, know better. It says in 1 Peter that "[he should do it so that] In all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ." None of us would be here if it wasn't for our Creator. None of us would be saved if it wasn't for our Savior. All of us would be lost if it wasn't for God and his perfect Son, whom he sent to save us from our sins. So what do we do with these blessings, knowing all of this about our wonderful God? It's simple. Praise the Lord in every way, using our gifts and blessings to serve Him in any way, shape or form that we can. We know that we are only here to serve; that the only reason God has given us all that we have is simply so that we can glorify and praise Him and we use these gifts.
Follow Jesus as the perfect example, using every gift in every way to accomplish the goal of serving God and others. Let us go out and share God's Word using our own unique gifts just as every believer in Christ our Savior is called to do.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What kind of gifts and blessing has God given you? How do you use your God-given gifts? Do you know anyone who doesn't use their gifts to please God?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank god for all that he has given you. Ask God to help you use his gifts the right way. Ask God to watch over all of the unbelievers and help them to change their ways.
