Wear God as your Suit of Armor

READ: Ephesians 6:10-18
The knights leapt to and fro, flashing their shiny swords at each other. Each sweep of the sword was a threat to their lives. They fight because they are enemies, each wanting to win honor and glory for being the victor. Each is trying to win to show his enemy that what he has done is wrong and that they will fight to their death to prove it and give them just punishment. A dangerous situation, but difficult to succeed in, because they are both wearing a suit of armor. This armor repels any swipes of the sword that they were unable to block their own.
We, too, must fight against the knights in this world, knights controlled by the devil. These knights come in many different forms. They may be the movies we want to see, or the bad language we use, or even the clothes we wear. However, we have no need to fear because we have better protection than any suit of armor could provide. That protection is God! Without Him we would be unable to protect ourselves with all of the temptations in this world, but with Him we can stand firm with truth, righteousness, and the Gospel. With our shield of faith we can repel all arrows sent by the evil one.
With our helmet of salvation and the Word of God, let us be alert and continually pray.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What are the enemies we face in the world today? Do we us the Word of God for defense or do we simply run and hide? Without God, what would protect us from this sinful world?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask for security and strength to fight our enemies. Pray for confidence in God that He will take care of everything. Thank Him for our protection.
