Given a New Hope

READ: Ephesians 3:12
"I'm sorry you have been cut from the team, better luck next year." We have all been in this situation in our lives at one point or another. The point when our stomach drops and all hope is lost. That low feeling that we always hear about but never want to feel ourselves. Imagine though that a couple of days later that same coach comes up to you and says, "We have a spot on the team and we want you to fill it." That low feeling that you had is now gone and you could not feel any better. Life is good and you are soaring on the clouds.
God has done the same thing for us. We were separated from him and banished to hell for all eternity. God sent his loving Son down to earth to end this separation and to bring us all back into the family of God. Paul says in Ephesians, "In Him and through faith we may approach God with freedom and confidence." Because of Jesus coming down to earth to save us, we have been given a second chance. And with this confidence we can have faith that God will listen to our prayers and will answer them as he sees fit. Jesus has given us the freedom and confidence to talk to God about anything we may need or want. We do not have to fear; God is with us and loves us because of Jesus' saving grace.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why should we want to thank God for sending his son to save us? Without Jesus, where would we go with all of our problems? Why do we have confidence that God will listen to our prayers?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for sending Jesus to reunite us with our heavenly Father. Thank God for listening to our prayers. Ask God to bless us with the confidence to put all our trust in Him.
