READ: 1 Kings 19:4-8

Have you ever felt that the world was crumbling around you? Your day just seemed to get worse as you failed a test. Then your girlfriend or boyfriend broke up with you. You felt there was no way out and you were losing hope. You felt terrible and all of your friends just kept bugging you and asking what was wrong. You felt that there was nothing else you could do. Well, you were right, there was nothing else you could do, but you were forgetting someone. That someone is God. God is there for you, to strengthen you, and to help you to deal with your problems.

If you need proof, here is the proof. In Kings 19:4-8 it says: "...Elijah went a days journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat under it and prayed that he might die...I have had enough, Lord," he said, "Take my life, I am no better than my ancestors..." All at once an angel touched him and said, "Get up and eat." When Elijah looked up, he saw bread and a jar of water. The Lord knows how much troubles we can handle and he will never give us more than we can handle. When we're feeling down, we need to look up to Him who meets all our needs!

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Do I ever feel that there is no where to turn? Do I ever think that I can handle problems myself? How should one deal with this?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray for strength to overcome troubles. Ask God to help you. Thank Him for getting you through in the past.
