Christ's Compelling Love

READ: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21
To get home from where I work, I have to cross a set of railroad tracks. One night as I came closer to the tracks, the lights started flashing. Being a speed demon, I put the pedal to the floor. That's when all of a sudden, my Ford Thunderbird stalled. I slammed on the brakes, and the car skidded right onto the tracks. I looked to my right and saw the train coming. I turned the key but nothing happened. I was in the process of ripping my seat-belt off, when the car suddenly lurched forward as a big Chevy pick-up truck pushed me off the tracks. The driver of the truck got off the tracks just as the train went speeding by. Because he saved my life, I go out of my way to help him whenever he needs something.
2 Corinthians 5:14 says, "For Christ's love compels us..." Christ died on the cross that we might live eternally with Him in heaven. Because of that love He has for us, we find ourselves compelled to do what is pleasing to Him, and tell others about that great love.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What's the nature of Jesus' "compulsion?" What should we do with the "Christian" who doesn't feel compelled to do the right things?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray that Christ's love for us compels us to be better Christians in our daily life.
