Our Bond With Jesus

READ:  Isaiah 25:6-9

It was the happiest day of Fred’s life.  He was finally marrying the woman he loved so much.  Betty had been Fred’s high school sweetheart.  They had known each other for several years.  It was the greatest day of their lives, because today they became one.  The reception after the wedding was the most joyous time the couple had spent together.  They were with their entire family, surrounded by people that loved them very much.

Soon after nightfall, some drunkards passed by and decided to crash the reception.  However, before they could get a chance to get in, the doors were slammed in their faces and the party went on.

This is a parable from the book of Isaiah.  The marriage between the two people is like the life-long relationship Christians have with their Lord.  The wedding reception is like the great banquet we will share with our Christian family described in Isaiah.

The men, who crashed the reception and were kicked out, are like unbelievers who will never be able to enjoy the great banquet in heaven, which has been given as God’s gift to all believers.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  How can you show how much you appreciate His gift of salvation?  Why has God given you eternal life?  What does God expect from you as a Christian?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Pray to God for giving you a loving and caring family.  Ask God to help you stay strong in faith with Him.  Pray to the Lord that He may bless you with a God-fearing life-long partner.
