Show and Tell

READ:  Psalm 1

Remember when you were in kindergarten and your teacher set aside a special day called, “Show and Tell?”  This was the day where everyone brought in the best toy that they owned to show off to their classmates.  Do you remember how excited you used to get about sharing it with the entire class?  Well, let’s just say as Christians, our teacher, God, has set aside every day to be “Show and Tell.”

In Psalm 1:3, we read, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season…”  In these words God is telling us to live our faith through our words and actions.  He uses a great comparison and says we are like trees.  As trees, we will want to grow and share the fruits that we have with others, that they may also do the same.  People should not have to guess what kind of person you are, but instead, they should be able to tell through the words and the witnessing that you do.

So, as you can see, even though we have matured and grown up over the years, we will always have “Show and Tell” set aside for us.  Knowing this, we should always have the attitude and faith of a little child and be excited and willing to witness to others the “Good News” of Jesus and the salvation that He offers.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  What was your attitude as a little child concerning the day of “Show and Tell?”  How have you witnessed your faith in the past couple of days?  What can you do to improve the way you reflect your faith in your life?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Ask the Lord’s guidance in helping you live your faith.  Pray for those whom you have witnessed to, that the seed, God’s Word, planted in their hearts may continue to grow.  Thank God for the salvation that He offers through Jesus.
