Misplaced Trust
READ: I Timothy 1:12-17
Bobby was 5 years old when his parents got divorced. Bobby went to live with his mother and rarely saw his father anymore. One day before his birthday, his father called. He said, “Hey, Bobby, tomorrow for your birthday, do you want to spend the day together?”
Of course Bobby was excited, and being only 5 years old, Bobby went and told all of his friends that his father was going to spend his birthday with him.
The day of his birthday came and his father never showed up or called. Bobby had placed his trust in his father, but that trust was misplaced.
In I Timothy 1:12-17, Paul talks about Jesus being a trustworthy person. Everything that He says He is going to do for us, He does. At the beginning God promised Adam and Eve that a Savior would come. Many years later, Jesus came and died for us. He kept His promise, and He always will.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: When might your trust in God falter? How do you then bring back your trust in Him? What has God promised you?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you keep your trust in Him. Pray to keep your trust in others. Ask for others to keep their trust in you.
