Share the Good News
READ: Isaiah 52:7-10
Kristen and Joe have found out they are going to have a baby. The two of them are extremely excited because they thought they could not have a baby. As soon as they get home, they begin to share their good news with family and friends.
This story is like the prophets prophesying Jesus’ birth in Isaiah 52:7-10 where it says, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion. ‘Your God reigns.’” In verse 9 it says, “Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.”
Isaiah is telling us to share the good news of Jesus’ coming to believers and unbelievers. All too often Jesus’ coming is covered up by the shopping and buying and receiving of presents at Christmas. At Christmas, instead of trying to receive the most presents, give a present that is often forgotten about. Tell others of Jesus’ coming.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How come people always forget the real reason for Christmas? How can I, as a Christian, tell more people about Jesus’ coming? How can more people accept the real reason of Christmas?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God for the strength to share Jesus’ coming to others. Ask for those who don’t know the real reason for Christmas to be taught about it. Thank God for knowing the real reason for Christmas.
