Praise Him With Gladness

READ: Luke 17:11-19

“Mom, we’re gonna be late for the clothes drive!” Todd said.  Todd and his mom jumped into the car and hurried to get to the church on time.  He was excited that other people would be able to get use out of his clothes that were too small for him.

As they started to unload their boxes of clothes and spread them out on the tables, people were already grabbing at them and looking at them.  Todd was upset that he wasn’t even getting to really see the people or what they took.  A little later a young boy approached Todd and told him, “Thank you for the shirt, it’s gonna keep me warm!”  Todd was so happy to hear that someone would enjoy his old clothes.

Just as we like to know that someone appreciates objects of ours, Jesus also likes us to come to Him and tell Him how thankful we are for all He does, and how we love Him so.

In Luke 17:15-16 Jesus says, “One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.  He threw himself at Jesus feet and praised him.”  We need to focus on the fact that Jesus gave up His life for us, and that we need to make time to thank Jesus daily for this.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: When you have been thanked for something, do you feel like you have been appreciated?  Why?  What are some ways that we can praise Jesus daily for what He has done?  How often do we really praise God?  Is that often enough?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray that we remember to praise and thank God daily.  Also, remind others to praise God daily.  Thank Him for all He does in keeping His promise of eternal life in heaven with Him some day.
