When is Jesus Coming?

READLuke 21: 5-36

What is the world to you?  Do you take it for granted like I sometimes do?  Many people in the world today don’t realize what a great gift God has given to you when He created us and everything around us.  There are other people who feel that they have plenty of time to ask for forgiveness or come to Christ.  They spend their time eating, drinking and being merry.  They don’t even think about what will happen to them after they die.  Jesus gave a parable about a rich man that did just that.  He bought barns to put his wheat in.  He thought he was set for life.  God, however, had a different plan.  He sent a spirit during the night and he died.  God tells us in Luke 21, “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life.”  That gives a lesson for our lives today.  Those who aren’t repentant, or don’t believe, must be brought to God and He will accept them with open arms.

As Christians, we know our future is secure because we know where our eternal home is going to be after we have left our temporary on here on earth.  Be eager to share that knowledge with everyone, because no one knows when it will be too late.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  What does a believer feel about death and what comes after?  How about an unbeliever?  What do the signs of today tell us about the future?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Ask God for forgiveness of your sins.  Thank Him for sending the Holy Spirit into your heart and for all the things God has done for you.  Ask for help in being prepared for Jesus’ coming.
