READ: Romans 8:35-39
Have you ever caught yourself falling away from the love of Jesus Christ? If so, you are just like every other Christian on this earth. This is the work of Satan, who uses every trick in the book to make you fall away from Jesus. Tribulation, distress, persecution and famine are just a couple of the schemes that Satan uses. All troubles are the result of sin, which Satan caused by means of Adam and Eve when they sinned in the Garden of Eden.
Satan gives people problems because, when people are distressed, they are very easy to mislead. When people are in turmoil, they blame it on God for not keeping them in good condition. Satan goes after many unbelievers because many of them don’t know the grace of God and the glories of Heaven.
God wrote, “For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” Then a couple of lines down, God says, “For I am sure that neither death, not life, nor angels, nor principalities, not things present, not things to come, not powers, not height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
So the next time troubles come into your life, don’t blame it on the Lord, because all that is happening is Satan trying to plant himself into your soul and trying to kick the Holy Spirit out of you. And trust fully in God's love and promises; you will not be separated from him!
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Do you ever blame the Lord when you are injured or sick? Why do you think these tribulations happen to you? When these tribulations come among you, what is the first thing that comes to your head?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray that God would see you through whatever troubles you are experiencing right now. Ask God to increase your faith and to always trust him fully.
