Where Will Your Friends Spend Eternity?
READ: Matthew 13:44-46
One of my close friends, Ted, is going to spend eternity in hell. Do you want this to happen to any of your friends?
I was talking to my friend, Ted, and he believes that there is no God at all. I tried to tell him that there is a God and then I started to tell him about the Gospel and Jesus. He was so stubborn in his ways. It was like he didn’t want to listen to reason. I became so frustrated that I just gave up. I was telling my friends about Ted and all I could do was cry. Someone whom I love and care about is going to hell. I don’t want this to happen, but what can I do?
We must be persistent in witnessing to our friends and to others, about the undeserved gift of heaven that is only given to us by our God. Witnessing to others may cause embarrassment, but just think—by you telling them about the Gospel, it may be the difference between them going to hell or having a chance to go to heaven. Let’s not give up opportunities to witness to unbelievers. We have the power to make God known to the world. If you knew that the end of the world was tomorrow, wouldn’t you want to tell everyone about Jesus? Let’s use that to motivate us to witness to all today and everyday to come.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What can you do to witness to unbelievers, today? How many “one line” witness statements can you think of?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: We should pray to God to help us be strong in our faith to witness to others about the Word and our gracious God.
