We All Have the Same Job
READ: Luke 1:46-55
In my eleven years of schooling, I have received a lot of advice. Much of that advice came from teachers. Most of my teachers said that I should become a pastor. Unfortunately, being a pastor is just not my calling. I know that I’m not required by God to become a pastor, but I felt like I was forsaking my Christian obligations. Just recently, I received some comforting advice on this mini-dilemma. I was told that God needs spokesmen in every career field. We all need to be “pastors.”
God uses indirect means to bring the Gospel to people. He has chosen us to be His messengers. We can’t shrug off these responsibilities. We can reach many more people by proclaiming God in our daily life, than we can if we all become pastors and teachers.
We should thank God for the job he gave us. We were given a gift. A gift given to us to beshared with otherws. Because of our diverse interests, the message can be spread to many people. We just have to be brave and share our gift.
If God helps us, we can all act like pastors in our own lives.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Do you feel that God has called you to be a pastor or teacher? Who has God given the responsibility of sharing the Gospel? How can you better share the Gospel with others?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you decide if it is your calling to be a pastor. Ask Him to also help you to share the Gospel with others.
