Jesus is the Way
READ: John 14:1-12
It was late one Saturday night in October. Jim was on his way to his friend’s house for a birthday party. Jim knew his friends were waiting for him and getting everything ready. The only problem was that Jim couldn’t find the way. He knew where he wanted to go, he just couldn’t figure out how to get there.
I think that is how it is with some people concerning the way to heaven. Everybody wants to go there but not everyone knows how. They worry about whether they’re going to heaven or not. In John 14, God tells us, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. In my Father’s house there are many rooms. I am going to prepare a place for you and I will come back and take you to be with Me. You know the way to the place I am going.”
These words from God should calm us. He tells us He is preparing a place for us in heaven and that when we die He will take us up to be with Him. More than that, He says we know the way!
We believe in Jesus. We know He died for our sins and believing that we are forgiven, there is a place in heaven waiting for us.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Is there a place waiting for us in heaven, even though we sin every day? Why can Christians sometimes feel like they’ve lost the way?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray to God for help as we face daily temptations that may lead us off the path to heaven. Also, thank Him for sending His Son, for Jesus is the only reason we are going to heaven.
