Why Me Lord?
READ: Romans 8:28-32
If you are like many other people in today’s society, you may ask yourself this question many times, depending on how your week is going. WHY ME? It’s said hundreds of times during the course of any unfortunate mishaps. Although everybody has problems, when your life seems to be full of them, you may think you’re the only one.
First of all, it states in Matthew 28:20, “I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.” This alone should help us though the rough times in our lives, when nothing seems to be going right. Christ is always by our side, during both the good and the bad. If our lives were always full of happiness, there would be no stress and we wouldn’t need to “cast all your anxiety on Him,” as it says in I Peter 5:7. Christ loves us and would never let anything happen to us that we couldn’t handle or that would work against us.
We must remind ourselves and others that everything works out for our good. We may not see it right away, but God is all-knowing, and therefore can certainly tell what is best for us before we can. So, the next time you are faced with trials in your life, think of this passage and be assured that whatever it is, it will work out for your benefit.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What situations have come up recently that I cannot see any good in? What situations can I find good in now, but couldn’t while they were happening?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to give you faith to believe everything works out for good. Thank God for never leaving you.
