Where Should We Turn?

READ:  Daniel 9:3-19

As school years come to an end and high school seniors leave, they enter a whole new life.  They have to learn a whole new life from what they are used to.  They aren't as sheltered as they were at home and in school.  Some might choose not to go on to a Christian college and therefore, have to deal with professors who might not believe in God.  Some might not know how to cope with this and find it very difficult.  God says, “Look to me in the day of trouble.”  This might be an encouraging word to those seniors as they leave and enter the “real world.”

As for juniors, they also have many decisions which they might need help with.  One of these decisions might be which college to go to, What they want to major in, or if they want to go into the work force directly out of high school.  Another problem juniors might struggle with is coping with their test scores on the ACT and SAT.  These scores might come out really low and they might not get into the college they want.  In these times they will want to look to God and ask Him for guidance.  “God hears the prayers and petitions of His servants.”

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  How different is the real world from high school?  Do you feel sheltered in your school?  Is being sheltered good or bad?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Ask God to help us prepare for the future.  Ask for the establishment of a strong faith that will last our whole life through.
