The Big Meet

READ: Isaiah 42:1-7

It is the morning of the big meet. All of the anxiousness and anticipation that you had been feeling the night before is gone. Now all you can seem to feel is fear sitting in the bottom of your stomach. You have put in all the hard work and coach tells you he has faith in you.

However, you know the whole season boils down to what you do in the state meet. That fills your mind with doubts and you find yourself asking a question. Am I strong enough to do this by myself?

As much as we would sometimes like to think we can do everything by ourselves, we can't. Without the help of God, we are weak. But God tells us in Isaiah 42:1, "Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight" God will uphold us in those times of weakness, and we need not fear, because He will give us peace and help through His Word.

So, when we feel waves of doubt and fear, look to the Lord for help and guidance. He is always willing to give us help when we need it.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What should we do when we need help? Why does God give us strength? How can we thank Him for giving us this strength?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you through any tough times you may be having. Thank Him for giving you the gift of strength. Ask for help for a friend that may be having tough times.
