Praise Him

READ: Psalm 150

One day Kasey, Tommy, and Marie were at choir rehearsal. Tommy was playing the piano, Kasey the guitar, and Marie was singing. When they finished, they received a compliment from Billy. He said that they were good enough to start a band. However, he didn't understand why they chose to sing and play religious music. They replied by telling him that all of their talents came from God and that in Psalm 150:6 God says, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord."

This is a lesson that we all need to learn. Some people may wonder, where, why, and how we praise Him. In verse one it says, "Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens." This is where we can praise Him. Verse two says, "Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness." This is why we praise Him. In verses 3-5 it says, "Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals." This is how we praise Him.

All in all, no matter where you are, or how you do it, if you have breath, praise God for all that He has done.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why should we as Christians praise God with a joyful heart? Who all should praise the Lord? How has God made it possible for all who should praise God to do so?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for giving us the chance to praise Him. Pray that His praises will be sung on this earth and in heaven. Pray that people will not limit His praise.
