I Quit
READ: Luke 5:1-11
Sarah was Student Body President, a 4.0 student, played soccer and volleyball, worked 3 times a week at the local food store, and was an active volunteer at the hospital near her home. Many people often told her that she should drop some things from her schedule because she would average 5 hours of sleep a night, was never home, and she barely had time to have fun with her friends and boyfriend.
At the end of Sarah's senior year in high school, when she was college searching, she received an offer to go to the State University on a full scholarship. She also received many awards and recognitions for her academic achievements, leadership, and athletic talents.
Many of us often find ourselves stressed to the point where we can not take it any more. We often wonder why God gives us such a heavy load. Luke 5:1-11 talks about Jesus and His disciples. The disciples spent all day trying to catch fish, but had no luck. Jesus told them to go out to deep water and throw their nets and they did. They caught so many fish that their nets began to break.
God has blessed us all greatly, and He tells us that He would never give us anything we could not handle. Trust in God and He will help you. Turn to His Word for help when you need to balance the load you are carrying.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever felt like God couldn't help you out of a situation? Has God ever helped you in a major situation when you didn't think there was any hope? Do you think there's ever a problem too big for God?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for helping you through rough, stressful times. Ask God to help you realize that He will help you through everything. Thank Him for never giving up on you when you were at a weak point in your life.
