Don't Get Shout Out
READ: Luke 13:22-30
I have always been"a huge sports fan. I try to watch or listen to all games involving the home teams. As entertaining as this is, nothing is better than actually attending the game in person. When I was twelve years old. my father and I decided to drive up to Green Bay and watch the Packers play. However, we did not have any tickets, because we assumed that there would still be some available at the ticket windows. We were wrong. The game had been sold out! And we were shut out!
There is an event approaching that is much greater than any sporting event than we could ever imagine. The event I am speaking of is a banquet that will be difficult to enter if you wait until the very last minute, because no one knows when the last minute is and the door in is narrow. The Lord says, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to."
If we stand firm in our faith today and forever, we will not have to worry whether or not we are the ones that will not be able to enter through the door. With Jesus as our ticket, we will never be shut out.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What can be done to strengthen your faith in Jesus? How can you let others know of the tickets available for them for this banquet? Do you realize how fortunate you are to have access to the ticket for salvation?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask the Lord for guidance in strengthening your faith in Him and His Word. Ask Him to be with those that have yet to notice the fact that they too have a ticket and that they might take full advantage of it. Thank Jesus for giving up His life, that we may receive the ticket of salvation.
