Secret Eyes

READ: Leviticus 26:36-39

Have you ever felt as if you were being watched? You feel strange and self-conscious. You look around and nothing’s there. We’ve all felt that way one time or another and we hate it. We want to run away or find the eyes you feel upon you.

That’s how we feel when we’ve fallen away from God. You are doing something wrong and you feel scared and you know it’s wrong. They call it conscience—I prefer God’s eyes. Naturally we want to run from the eyes, but if we know the being behind the eyes, through scripture, we can go to Him instead of scurrying in fear.

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: If you’re feeling guilty with God’s eyes of judgment or disappointment on you, which words of His should you review? If you’ve repented of a sin, is there still something you should say to someone, or a repayment to be made? Does God’s forgiveness excuse and wipe away the cost of what we do against our neighbor?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray to use our eyes to find not only God’s eyes, but also Him and His love.
