Sometimes They Just Don't Understand

READ: Job 14:1
My grandma, whom I hadn't seen in a long time, came to visit one weekend. I was awakened in the middle of the night by noises that sounded like someone moaning in pain. I opened my eyes to see a ray of light shining through the crack under the door. My first thought was, "Who left the light on?" Then I heard it again, my grandma was crying out in pain. Frightened, I jumped out of my bed only to find my grandma tumbled over in a chair grasping her chest and fighting for air!
I was about to call an ambulance when my dad appeared and told me he had already called 911. When the ambulance arrived, I watched as my grandma was placed on a stretcher and taken to the hospital's emergency room.
I prayed constantly during the weeks that followed. I was told that my grandma had to undergo triple by-pass heart surgery. So many times I'd ask myself why God would do this. Even during those weak moments He uplifted me and strengthened my faith in Him.
Have you ever gone through a terrible situation where everything seemed absolutely hopeless? Think about it for a while. As teenagers, we go through so much. It just seems no one understands. Well, there is someone who is always there ready and willing to help. And the best part is that it only takes a prayer. The Bible says, "...call upon me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you will honor me." What a comfort that is! Not only do we have someone who we can tell anything to, but He also promises to deliver us from our problems and troubles. What comfort we always have in God! Pray to Him always. He promises to answer.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever gone through something and felt completely hopeless? Did you turn to God first or as a last resort? How did the Lord deliver you from your troubles?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Whenever you have a problem. Big or small, remember to go to God first. Pray for confidence to know that God will answer your prayer.
