Have You Counted Your Blessings Lately?

READ: Psalm 67
When you woke up this morning, did you thank God for blessing you with another day? Do you thank God each day for all the things He has given you?
In Psalm 106:1 David says, "Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." This is a common prayer mealtime prayer that is prayed every day. Did you ever think about what you are saying?
Another familiar passage is Psalm 50:15, "And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you will honor me." In Psalm 67:3-5, the people of Israel pray that God's blessings on them be so evident to other nations that they will be moved to praise Him, too.
Just as David wrote, we, like the people in Psalm 67 should be moved to thank and praise God for all the blessings He has given us. Jesus gave us the gift of eternal life by dying on the cross so we could be saved. Have you ever thought about how great a price that really was?
We take for granted all the wonderful things God has blessed us with. Yet God still continues to bless us, even though we don't deserve it, and even though we don't always praise and thank Him as we should. Thank God today for all he has given you, especially the gift of our Savior, Jesus.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What blessings has God brought into your life? For whose benefit? For what purpose?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for all the blessings He has given you. Pray that God will continue to bless you all of your life.
