Are You Ashamed of Jesus?

READ: Hebrews 2:10-18
Kelly and Mandy were talking at school the other day. Mandy said to Kelly, "Isn't religion the dumbest class in the world?" "All we ever hear about is God, God, God. I'm so sick of it." Actually Kelly liked religion class and chapel, but she didn't want Mandy to think she was a loser, so she replied, "Yeah, it is really stupid."
Later that day, Kelly thought about the conversation. She felt really bad for not saying what she really believed. In her mind the words of Hebrews 2:11 kept replaying, "Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers." "How could I be embarrassed to share my faith in Jesus?" she wondered. "And this is a Christian school."
Kelly's situation is not unusual. I have had many conversations like that. People sometimes ask, "Don't you get sick of going to religion class every day? I don't even like to go to church every Sunday. How can you stand it?"
As Christians, we have the privilege to share our faith with others. It is hard to do, but with practice, it becomes easier to do. We cannot forget all the things Jesus has done for us. He even died for us - and yet we're too scared to share Him with others?. He is the ultimate defense for us. He defended us from hell. How can we even think about being embarrassed about Him? He is the best thing we could ever give to anybody.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How can you be better prepared to share your faith with others? How can you share the great news?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you to be a better witness of His love for you and others. Thank Him for forgiving you, even though so many times you have turned your back on Him.
