Praise Him

READ: Psalm 150
One day Casey, Tom, and Marie were at choir rehearsal. Casey was playing piano, Tom the guitar, and Marie was singing. When they finished, their friend Billy complimented them on their talent. He said that they were good enough to start a band, make lots of money, and enjoy the easy life. The musicians, while thankful for the compliment, explained to Billy that they weren't as interested in "making it big time" as they were in using their talents to praise the God those talents came from. They shared Psalm 150:6 with him, where it says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
As God's children by grace through faith, we ought to praise the Lord, too. Where can we praise God? “Praise God in his sanctuary, praise him in his mighty heavens” (Psalm 150:1) Why do we praise God? “Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness” (Psalm 150:2) How do we praise God? “Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals" (Psalm 150:3)
No matter where you are or how you do it, if you have breath, praise God for all that He has done and continues to do for you!
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why should we as Christians praise God with a joyful heart? Who should praise the Lord? How has God made it possible for all who should praise God to do so?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for giving us the chance to praise Him. Pray that His praises will be sung on this earth and in heaven. Pray that people will not limit His praise.
