Bad Day?

READ: Ruth 2:2-13
God's hand moves events in such a way as to bring about his plan. The Bible tells us "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him." The events of our life are not always according to our plans - but God uses what happens for our good, even when sinful people rebel against him in their (our) actions.
Ruth was reduced to picking up dropped food just to stay alive, but God would use this "bad day" so that Ruth would find a husband -- and become the ancestor of Jesus.
Are things not going your way today? Pray that God would carry out his plan for you, and don't be afraid to be bold in praying that he would make your personal doings successful. This is what we pray for whenever we pray "Thy will be done." We are praying that he would carry out his plan - even by using us to do it. Even you.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Can you cite experiences in your own life that, at the time, were difficult to endure, but turned out better than you could have anticipated or in ways you never would have thought of? How does enduring hardship increase our trust in God?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Follow the prayer suggestions in the devotion above, and ask God for an extra measure of faith to trust him more fully and selflessly every day.
