Everyday
READ: Luke 6:10-11
In 2001 popular musician Dave Mathews released an album with the title track "Everyday." The song came from the idea of being thankful for the people around you everyday of your life.
The man who Jesus healed was obviously thankful that he could use his hand again. I am sure that many of the people worshiping at the synagogue were happy to be in the presence of Jesus and witness this miracle. But of course there were those frowning, scowling faces who did not appreciate or feel thankful for Jesus healing of the man. They were obviously the opposite of thankful in their thinking.
Who are we like? Are we thankful everyday? Do we sometimes find it extremely difficult to find the cloud with the silver lining?
No matter how sunny or gloomy our days may seem God is right here next to us watching our life and times. He is here blessing you and me…everyday.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: When we are thankless or feel like complaining, what can we do to turn away from these tendencies? How many Bible examples can you think of thankful Christians?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for loving you despite your times of lovelessness and thanklessness for him. Ask God to forgive you for a cold and complacent heart and to fill you with love, joy, and thankfulness for all that he has done and continues to do for you.
