The Best Father of All
READ: Ephesians 3:14-20
Parenting – those who’ve experienced it say that it’s one of the greatest blessings from God. Mothers and fathers love their children more than anything else in the world. Their love is unconditional. They look past the outward appearance and behavior to the inside. They see a dearly loved son or daughter despite any wrongs done, any shortcomings, any failures.
Now, imagine that same love and multiply it one billion times. This is just a fraction of how much our heavenly Father loves us. Paul reminded the Ephesians of this very thing when he writes, “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.” Paul goes on to say how great and immeasurable God’s love is. He is Father of the entire world, and is able to give us, His children, whatever we ask for in His name. Much like our earthly parents, our heavenly Father overlooks the bad in us, through the blood of Jesus, to see the good. Because of what His Son did for us, in God’s eyes, we have been made perfect.
Parents love their children unconditionally. Yet their love sometimes waivers because of their sinfulness. But God's love NEVER waivers. Take comfort in God’s immeasurable love towards you, his dear child.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: What makes our heavenly Father’s love unconditional? How is that different from the love of our earthly parents? What can we do to show the same unconditional love to others around us?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Thank God for His unconditional and immeasurable love. Ask God to help you show unconditional love to others. Pray for those who don’t know about their heavenly Father and His love.
