Gift of Life
READ: Job 19:23-27
Have you ever received a really great gift, maybe for Christmas or your birthday; one that you said you would love forever? I did once. It was a bike. My grandpa gave it to me for confirmation. He let me pick it out and everything. He wanted me to really love his gift to me.
I picked out a turquoise TREK; one of the best bike makers in the world. It had air shocks on the front tires and a really great digital speedometer. I thought I would love this bike forever, but as it turned out, about one month later it was stolen from behind my house.
It made me realize that good things don’t last forever, or do they? God gave us the greatest gift in the world, completely for free. Christ gave us the gift of life; a gift no one can take away from us.
In these verses it says that when our body decays, we will still be alive in Christ in heaven. Because you know that your Redeemer lives, you can go out into the world and share the gift of life Jesus has won for us with others.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: How long will God’s gift last? How much did God’s gift cost us? What should we do now that we have God’s gift of life?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to help you to be more obedient to your parents. Thank God for all the blessings He has given you. Ask God to make you more courageous in spreading the Gospel to others.
