Learning from the King

READ: Hebrews 5:7-9
Growing up can be a very rough time. There are many times in life when you are rejected, told you aren't good enough, and "slapped" around. At these times in a young person's life, it can be very easy to quit or get down on yourself and/or on God and ask, "why me, Lord?" And this is just what Satan wants you to do. DOUBT!
But in times like these, God shows us what we need to do by example. During Jesus' life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save Him from death. Jesus faced some of the same situations we do, and He went to His Father in prayer. Shouldn't we do the same?
There is a saying, "How much do you love me?" When this question is asked of God concerning us, He shows us He loves us more than anything in this world and more than we could ever imagine loving anyone or anything!
So when life gets tough on you, and you're getting told over and over again you're not good enough, just go to God in prayer. Follow the king's example, and go to God - in bad times and good times; He will help you get through any and everything.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Why should we pray when things to wrong in our lives? How should you tell others to pray? If unbelievers don't understand what you're prayer life is all about, how should you explain it to them?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Ask God to strengthen your prayer life. Also thank Him for leading by example and giving us a "one-on-one" means of communication with Him.
