Heaven Is Ours Through Jesus

READ: 1 Peter 1:1-19
“Though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” These are the words that are written to us in 1 Peter 1:6
Have you ever gone through any troublesome times in your life? For example, losing a parent or relative, or even losing at something you really strived for, like the championship game. Maybe you have lost a girlfriend or boyfriend who really meant a lot to you. We all go through some problems in our lives.
God uses this grief to strengthen our faith. We should always try to remember, no matter what happens, no matter how bad it is, God will always be there for us. In 1 Peter 1:18, Peter tells us that we are redeemed not by gold or silver, but by Jesus’ precious blood and His innocent suffering and death. By His death on the cross we will one day be in heaven where we will be free from all sorrow, grief and sadness. In all this we should stand firm in the faith and remain focused on our goal.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever doubted Jesus during your trials and temptations? How did you God help you overcome them? What is your goal? What kind of trials did Jesus go through? Who did Jesus turn to? When you have trials in your life, did they strengthen your faith?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: We should pray to God that we remain on the path to salvation, and that we give thanks to Jesus for His death on the cross. We should pray for help in remembering during trials and temptations to turn to God for help.
