Witness Christ's Resurrection

READ: Luke 24:46-48

One Sunday my mom nudged my arm in church.  When she had my attention, she pointed to an article in the church bulletin that read, “Evangelists needed, witness Christ’s Resurrection!”  I looked at it and laughed.  “That’s the pastor’s job,” I told her.

Later that day my mom showed me a passage in the Bible from Luke 24 which reads, “He (Jesus) told them, ‘This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in Jerusalem.  You are witnesses of these things.’”  We are all witnesses, and everyone should share the message of Christ’s death and resurrection from the dead.

God calls all Christians, not just pastors and teachers, to spread the Word of God and to be witnesses of Christ’s resurrection.   God tells us: “You are witnesses of these things.”  Share with joy the good news of salvation through Jesus!

THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:  When was the last time you spread the word of Christ’s resurrection?  What can you do to spread God’s Word more efficiently?  How can you help your church find unchurched people to preach to?

PRAYER SUGGESTIONS:  Thank God you have been given the ability to evangelize.  Pray for God to bless you when you evangelize.  Thank Jesus for dying and rising again so we have good news to share.
