Heaven is Ours

READ: 1 Peter 1:1-19
“Though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” These are the words that are written to us in 1 Peter 1:5. Have you ever gone through any troublesome times in your life? For example, losing a parent or relative, or even losing at something you really strived for like the championship game? Maybe you have lost a girlfriend or boyfriend who really meant a lot to you. We all go through some problems in our lives.
God allows us to have this grief to strengthen our faith. We must always remember that no matter what happens, no matter how bad it is, God will always be there for us. In 1 Peter 1:18, Peter tells us that we are redeemed not by gold or silver, but by Jesus’ precious blood, and His innocent suffering and death.
By Jesus' death and resurrection, we will be in heaven where we will be free from all sorrow, grief and sadness. In all this we should stand firm in the faith and remain focused on our goal.
THINGS TO THINK ABOUT: Have you ever doubted Jesus among your trials and temptations? When you had trials is your life, did they strengthen your faith?
PRAYER SUGGESTIONS: Pray to God that you remain on the path to salvation. Give thanks to Jesus for His death and resurrection. Pray for help in trials and temptations that we turn to God for help.
